If you are picking your child up from RCES today due to bus shortage please make sure you come prepared with your orange card that matches your child's orange card. If you do not have an orange card to show, staff will send you to office for someone to check your ID and the child's enrollment card.

Tomorrow is our behavior field trip. We will run two buses from RCES to CW Corn Maze. It will be chilly so please make sure your children are dressed in layers for the day. No flip flops or open toe shoes allowed. Students will be walking through a farm atmosphere so appropriate shoes are a must. No cellphones or devices are allowed on the trip. We are excited to share this reward day with our students of stellar behavior. If your child did not turn in their permission slip, yet, they have until tomorrow at 8 a.m. to get the permission slip in or they will be staying back at RCES site.
BU Zoo is scheduled for tomorrow. We have several students who did not turn their permission slip in. The permission slip is within the picture and bracelet form sent home last week. We are resending the permission form to those students who did not turn the form in. Please have those turned in by tomorrow morning or your child will not be allowed to attend the BU Zoo.
Don't forget as per policy you cannot call in the office and change where your children are going. You must send them with a note from their PRIMARY guardian. If you must change where your children are going midday, the primary guardian must walk the note to the office. I appreciate your patience with all these corrective actions to make our school policy up to proper law and code. You have done an amazing job with the number safety system. Let's continue to move forward with our schools compliance with proper procedure.
Starting on Monday, September 15th, Rock Cave Elementary will begin to use the number card system for parent pick ups. Every child will receive three number cards that are wallet size to go home in their book bag, Friday. Parents will need to adhere one card to their child's book bag that is easily visible to ALL staff and the parent who is picking the child up will have to show the corresponding number card that matches that child. You will have two number cards issued to the main guardian for disseminating to proper adults that are already listed on the emergency card in the office. If you do not have a card to show we will need to go into the office and call the main guardian. No students will be allowed to leave evening bus line without the person picking them up having the matching number card. Safety is key at RCES.

Rock Cave is under a boil water advisory tomorrow. All students will need to bring their own bottled water from home. I will let everyone know when the boil water advisory has been lifted.

Popsicles with the Principal is this Wednesday, 5-6. Open House at Rock Cave Elementary is August 13, 4-6.
Due to foreseen circumstances, Rock Cave Elementary will not have a school-wide awards ceremony on May 29th. This event will not be rescheduled.
Our Wellness Day will go on as planned. Send your student to school in their class color and dressed for the weather. We will do our best to keep your child dry.
The fire and police department will be joining us, too. If you see fire trucks, police cars, and the SWAT truck, do not be alarmed! Our students are having fun!

Hello. We are pleased to inform you that you should be able to see your child’s 2025 West Virginia General Summative Assessment results online within 24 hours after completing the ELA, math, or science tests. We are sending home a letter with your child that has the information you need to see their results. Your child has also taken a picture of this letter in case it was lost. If you still need the information, please contact the school and we will provide the web address and your access code.

Friday, May 16th (Strawberry Festival Friday) will be a 12:45 dismissal. Please plan accordingly! Parent Pick-up will start at 12:45. The school will be holding the Testing Reward on the 16th. Everyone must be present to win.

Report Cards will be coming home today. We had issues with our grading platform. If you have any questions about your child's report card, please reach out to your child's teacher. Our parent/teacher conferences are on Thursday, March 20th. Report cards errors could be discussed during your scheduled conference time.
